Qlik and Snowflake partnership
Qlik recently announced that it is joining Snowflake’s partner connect program to provide a seamless experience between the two platforms. The main benefit to data engineers is that through Snowflake’s data exchange and its cloud data warehousing, it will allow users to access more relevant datasets faster, allowing for greater interpretation of their own data and recommendations.
This looks like a move from both Snowflake and Qlik to increase their user base through strategic partnerships. With Snowflake gearing up for a potential IPO as early as H2 2020, it is increasing its connectivity with established players like Qlik and data.world (announced 14th February 2020) through its Snowflake Partner Connect. Qlik is looking to protect themselves from the growing threats from recent acquisitions of Looker and Tableau by Google and Salesforce respectively by increasing its potential customer base.
