What did you study (at school, college or university)?
German Literature, Computer Science, Religious Studies (M.A.)

How did you get into technology?
While studying, I worked as an editor for an academical online magazine and also did quality management for an IT company. In both jobs I enjoyed all the technical aspects most, so I picked up Computer Science as a minor subject at university. After graduating, I went into academics, but soon missed all the technical stuff, so I smoothed back into the IT world as a Software Tester. And behold - what a great job! Diverse, creative, challenging - always something new to learn!

What advice would you give to girls looking to get into a tech related career?
Do whatever you are passionate about! Don't let anybody tell you what you can or can't do, find out for yourself. Don't be afraid to fail - everybody does, and the best embrace it as an opportunity to learn.
